How Does Lotto Texas Extra Compare to the US Powerball?
The prize structure of Lotto Texas Extra is similar to that of the US Powerball. It’s a 6/53 lottery game, with an advertised jackpot of $10 million. However, there are no prizes below $1 million; if you win less than that amount with your ticket, it will be paid out as an annuity (up to 30 years).
You can also choose to take all of your winnings in cash instead of receiving payments over time; this option isn’t available for Powerball players who choose not to take their payout as an annuity.
Like Powerball, Lotto Texas Extra has two “bonus” draws per week: one on Wednesday nights and another on Saturday nights. These extra drawings are used as a way for the lottery commission to increase sales during slower periods throughout the year–and they’re also meant as a way for players who aren’t able or willing to play every day get some extra chances at winning something big!
